We have seen a clear raise of 3D scanning for quality control and quality assurance application in recent years. However, for a large portion of the population (≈26%) the most important factor slowing the adoption of 3D scanning technology is either a lack of knowledge in 3D measurement technology or a trust issue against 3D scanners as a reliable measuring tool. This is even more true for applications with high accuracy requirements or when trying to measure large components.
In this free webinar Jerome-Alexandre Lavoie, Product Manager at Creaform presents a real case study showing how highly accurate measurements obtained by handheld 3D scanners helped to make a further contribution to the sustainability and technological diversity of Voestalpine, as a global steel and technology group. In addition, Olivier Plamondon, Technical Product Manager at Creaform, will explain how volumetric artefacts can be carried out to prove that 3D scanners are reliable measuring equipment.
