This was during the Special Olympics World Games 2023, which have attracted hundreds of thousands from across the globe in honor of people with intellectual disabilities and other disabilities.
Kenya was well represented by a team of 66 from across the country.
The Kenyan team was led by the Spouse of the Deputy President, H. E. Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, who is also the Patron of Special Olympics Kenya.
The Kenyan team will participate in various games, including volleyball, badminton, and athletics.
One of the pillars of Pastor Dorcas' vision is people with disabilities. The Games are about breaking the barriers that curtail the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.
