The West Coast Environmental Protection Association fears a new phosphate mine at Elandsfontein could cause irreversible damage to the ecologically sensitive Langebaan Lagoon. The association claims the licensing process for the new mine was flawed, and its taking the Mineral Resources Department to court in a bid to have the process reviewed.
