Former Public health Principal Secretary Josphine Mburu has absolved herself from blame over the cancellation of the 3.7 billion tender for the procurement of mosquito nets at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA). While appearing before the Senate Heath Committee, Mburu revealed that she was not involved in the procurement process adding that her role was restricted to issuing an advisory on certain specifications that were allegedly omitted on the tender. The former PS, who says that she learnt about her sacking from the media, insisted that while she cannot challenge the decision by President William Ruto she wants a fair hearing and an answer on what costed her a job. Also summoned to shed light on the bungled procurement process was the suspended CEO Terry Ramadhani who affirmed that there was no loss of public funds.
