If you are trying to determine if your timing chain is stretched in your C230 Kompressor (M271), the noises heard upon this start up are normal. The excess noise heard is the chain dragging on the guides until the oil pressure comes up to fully tighten the tensioner.

This is a 2003 Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor. This engine had approximately 138,000 miles on it at the time the video was taken. The engine in the video now has approximately 197,000 miles on it as of May 2017 and still sounds exactly the same on a cold start.
