The cheap and easy fix for toughening the Nagoya NA-24J or similar antennas for those that use their Baofeng UV-5r radios hard. Dropping the radio is never a good idea, but Murphy's law hold true. Always have redundancies and take any precaution reasonable to protect your critical gear.
