Intermittent PhDs in Business are weekend PhDs, part-time business PhDs, online PhDs, executive PhDs, or executive DBA programs.
Should you do an intermittent PhD, like a weekend PhD program or a part-time Business PhD? For the majority of people that are thinking about becoming a business professor, the answer is a firm ‘no.’ A PhD in Business should be your full-time 60 hour a week job.
However, this does not mean that everyone wants to become a tenure-tracked business professor. People want a PhD for all sorts of reasons: (1) status, (2) the challenge, (3) to apply knowledge, or (4) just for the joy of learning. For any other reason than doing research for your full-time job, doing intermittent PhD in business could work for you.
What are the limitations of doing weekend business PhDs or part-time business PhDs?
1. You will likely not get a tenure-track professor position in a major university. You can teach, but you can also teach with significant experience and an MBA.
2. You have a high chance of failure. Generally, any program that is self-directed is more difficult as the only person that is answerable to your performance is you.
3. Weekend PhDs and Part-time PhDs are quite difficult as it requires you to devote all of your off-time to even more difficult work than you are used to.
4. Executive PhDs, DBAs, Online PhDs in Business, weekend PhDs in Business, and Part-time PhD programs all tend to be rather expensive. For many people that can afford such programs this is fine, but if you are thinking of doing it to increase your income and you are already making little money, do not do these programs. Most often, you will not get a large increase in salary that you are seeking.

David Maslach is a research professor of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business strategy, I discuss topics, such as behavioral science, strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and apply these to my new peer proofreading and editing platform. Topics include the sharing economy, altruism, investing in technology, starting a business, and bounded rationality. My favorite videos pertain to incentives, goal setting, and learning from failure to drive behaviors such as weight loss, stopping telemarketers, creating novel technologies, and creating new movements.
[ Ссылка ]: Peer proofreading and editing platform
A new platform where you can earn credits by editing other people's documents. Use these credits to have your own work edited. If you do a good enough job, you can convert these credits to money.
The goal of the platform is to get people to 'pay it forward' and help other people out by creating incentives for people to give back.
