WhatsApp has added a new feature for iOS users that allows us to lock the app with Touch ID or Face ID! Watch this quick video to learn how to lock WhatsApp with Touch ID or Face ID on iPhone.
To begin, open WhatsApp and tap Settings in the bottom menu. Then select Account. Tap Privacy. Scroll down and tap Screen Lock. Here you’ll see the option to lock WhatsApp with either Touch ID or Face ID, depending on what type of iPhone you have. I’m using an iPhone 6S, so Touch ID is the option that appears for me. If you have a newer iPhone, you’ll likely only see the Face ID option. Tap the switch beside Require Touch ID to enable the lock and start setting it up. Then select how long you’d like to allow the app to be unlocked for before needing to unlock it again. Once you have this privacy lock set up, you’ll need to unlock it in order to see your messages. This will not affect your notifications or stop you from receiving calls.
