Flax (also known as linseed) is mainly grown for its fibers which can be used to create linnen. This is used for a multitude of things and the whole plant is used. Both the fibers but also the bark (stem) and the root. The seed is used to sown next years crop or as superfood or on bread an buns.
Dutch company Van de Bilt uses special harvesting machines that both pull/pick the plants and thresh the seed heads. This machine was commissioned by them and build this year. It uses picking gear from Union, self-design threshing system, John Deere cleaning shoe, Lochmann cab, Deutz engine, etc. It is truly a unique machine that is capable of high working speeds.
