All nine cases were fully vaccinated, so all of them are breakthrough infections. Their vaccination history is as follows, in order: Two doses of Pfizer, two doses of AstraZeneca – that’s for the first and second arrival. As for arrivals three to seven, all five of them had received two doses of Sinovac. The last two arrivals received one dose of Johnson & Johnson and two doses of AstraZeneca, respectively. The case count is a bit higher today. Six of the cases came from Indonesia. Five of them are international students. One is a fisherman.
Also on Monday, the CECC said it will enforce strict vaccination checks on expats that return for the Lunar New Year holiday. It’s working on software that lets travelers upload their vaccination certificates for online review. Travelers who present forged documents could face stiff fines as high as NT$150,000.
