This is a beautiful c.1820 Anglo Indian Writing Slope in excellent condition, it is housed in it’s travel casing which is a box made of Sandlewood. The “Travel box” is not in great condition but we have never had an Anglo Indian Writing Box that comes in its original travelling box! The outer “Travel Box” measures: 34cm by 28cm and stands 10cm tall its base is lined inside and houses the most wonderful Anglo Indian Writing Box. The Anglo Indian Writing Box measures: 30cm by 24cm and stands 8.5cm tall. It is Ivory, Pewter and a wonderful green stone inlaid. The box has either silver or heavily plated handles to the sides, open the box to reveal one ink and one pot, it has an ivory pen slope and a green velvet covering the inside of the box has three lidded compartments. The base of the wood is Sandlewood and it has a working lock and key.
