The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm alert for regions across Victoria – warning more heavy rain could lead to flash flooding.
Severe storms hit the state last night, leaving 4,000 homes without power and the SES responded to more than 350 requests for help.
Heavy rain, damaging hail and strong winds are expected to continue throughout the day.
Areas in northern and western Melbourne and the southern Macedon Ranges are expected to be hit the hardest.
