As 2024 comes to a close, look back at the past year at the Bob Dylan Center. The center's educational programs have grown, with initiatives like "Tangled Up in Tunes" providing local musicians the opportunity to teach students how to play instruments and write their own songs. Visitors experienced a variety of exhibitions highlighting the creative story of Bob Dylan and adjacent musicians and songwriters, like "Mixing Up the Medicine: Treasures from the Bob Dylan Center," "They Gave the Walls A Talking: The Extraordinary Story of the Pogues and Shane MacGowan" and "How Many Roads: Bob Dylan and His Changing Times, 1961-1964." Fall brought the opening of "Jesse Ed Davis: Natural Anthem," an exhibit honoring the legendary guitarist and his Native American roots.
Looking ahead to the new year, the Bob Dylan Center is excited to continue showcasing the "Jesse Ed Davis" exhibit, along with a special tribute concert to Davis, featuring legendary musician Jackson Browne, former U.S. Poet Laureate and the center's artist-in-residence Joy Harjo, The Grafitti Band and blues rock icon Taj Mahal. To honor the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan’s "Blood on the Tracks," the center will bring together a star-studded lineup of artists, including Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Diana Krall and more, to perform the album and a swath of other Dylan songs. With more exhibits and programs on the horizon, 2025 promises to be an exciting year filled with even more special experiences at the Bob Dylan Center.
