Gender-based violence (GBV) continues to rear its hideous head in South Africa. A recent report published on the South African Government website indicates that between July and September 2023, 1 514 incidents of attempted murder, involving female victims were reported. The Pastoral Care Unit in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and the Transformation Office are currently running a campaign as a means of raising awareness on the 16 days of Activism about the dire effects of this scourge.
