Well, it was very windy. Too bad I forgot to record the place where we were flying, so you can see how the weather was. My dad was in control of the plane because the Mini Solius is fast, in particular with wind, and I wanted a good clean record of it.
The Mini Solius is a 65cm wingspan hand launch glider (the kind of really cheap stuff you give to your children to leave you alone...). It has been equipped with micro RC equipment, allowing it to be controlled.
The plane is very reactive (even with 20% expo on ailerons), and you can do some aerobatics with it, which is very funny. The main problem is that she's very "motor dependant". If you put the throttle of, it will drop very fast (perfect for landing btw). The plane is "crashproof", because of it's very light weight, 105g, bad landings don't hurt. I didn't tried to fly it at the slope, but I'm sure it'll be fine.
Now, some specs :
- A very tiny 13/12 NTM Propdrive (2400kv, 40watt) brushless motor
- A 10A ESC
- LiPo 2S 300mAh, which gives approx. 5 minutes of full throttle
- A 4x3.5 prop'
- 3 4,4g servos (2 for the ailerons, allowing differential mix, one for the elevator)
- The receiver is a Orange RxR615x (Compatible with Spektrum transmitters), modified by removing the (big and heavy) plastic shell and replacing it with a piece of shrinking tube.
