The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Sacramento, California commemorates Great & Holy Friday according to the tradition of the ancient Orthodox Christianity. The annual procession with the epitaphion (e-pee-TAF-ee-on) or burial shroud of Christ symbolizes the entombment, funeral procession, and subsequent three-day burial in the tomb. The procession took place the evening of Friday, April 10, 2015 around the F Street and Alhambra block of East Sacramento, across the street from McKinley Park.
