Sergeant Major (SGM) William D. Waugh was a soldier in the United States Army from 1948 to 1972 and a spy in Central Intelligence Agency from 1977 into the early 2000's.
Billy Waugh fought in the Korea War, was deployed to the jungles of Vietnam with Special Forces (Green Berets) and MACV-SOG and also deployed in 2001 with Special Forces to Afghanistan to find Osama bin Laden at 71 years old! Waugh is a man who knew no limits and pushed them until his passing on 4 April 2023.
This video is Part 1 of a 2 Part series which details Waugh's early years growing up in Texas and follows him until his retirement from the Army and Special Forces in 1972. Learn about the operations he went on in Vietnam to include the Bong Son Raid, Oscar 8 and the first Combat HALO Jumps in Vietnam.
Waugh's life is one legends are made of and few will have the chance to equal.
