Should you snap up a deal on a used 2017 Chevy Bolt EV or is it worth upgrading to the 2020 model?
As more and more used 2017 Bolt EVs come back off lease - and our own 2017 Premier model ticks past 33,333 miles before heading back to the dealer - we take a look at how the vehicle is holding up. This video provides an overall summary of our three years driving a Bolt EV as the only car for a family of four, which means everything from local errands and kids' activities to major road trips covering thousands of miles.
A future video will drill down into the costs of running and upkeep over three years, but maintenance has been minimal, and abundant local charging has helped to keep the $$ spent on this car ridiculously low.
**EDIT: I neglected to mention that the Bolt EV is also FUN! Guess I'm so used to 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and effortless acceleration/deceleration at high speeds that I took it for granted! There's more on driving performance in our two-year review if that's your bag -- [ Ссылка ] **
With the improved 2020 Chevy Bolt EV now in our driveway, we also take a look at why we went that route instead of buying out the 2017 lease. Suffice it to say that the deals on the current model year have been too good to pass up, but with so many 2017s coming back to dealerships and downward pressure on those prices, the second half of this year could easily make a used 2017 Chevy Bolt EV the best deal for an affordable electric vehicle in North America.
Are you considering a new vs. used Bolt EV, or did you already snag a great deal on a 2020 model? If you've ever looked at the car but found it unsuitable, we'd also love to hear why. Any comments, questions, or dealership experiences could help potential buyers decide whether the car is right for them, so fire away!
And if you have any specific questions about our 2017 Bolt that I didn't cover in this video, feel free to email plugandplayEV@gmail.com and we'll try to answer them.
Thanks for watching and happy Bolting!
