El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) alertó por el impacto de, la ahora, tormenta tropical John que sucederá en las próximas horas de este viernes 27 de septiembre 2024. El meteoro ha tenido una trayectoria cambiante a lo largo de su evolución y ha dejado seis muertes, pérdidas económicas, inundaciones y deslaves en su paso por México, especialmente en Acapulco, Guerrero.
El lunes 23 de septiembre, John evolucionó a huracán y posteriormente se degradó hasta llegar a depresión tropical, sin embargo, fue el miércoles 25 de septiembre cuando volvió a ser ciclón tropical categoría 1 e impactó Acapulco, Guerrero, en donde las autoridades dieron a conocer que cinco personas fallecieron.
Para este viernes 27 de septiembre, el Meteorológico indica que John permanecerá como tormenta tropical y se prevé que a las 12:00 horas impacte nuevamente en tierra entre los municipios de Aquila, en Michoacán, y en Manzanillo, Colima. Para el sábado, el meteoro se degradará en depresión tropical, aún en su paso por tierra.
