Hey everyone! In this video, we're going to take a nostalgic look back at Nintendo's console history. We'll be looking at everything from the first Colour TV-Game (1977) to the Nintendo Entertainment System (1983) and the Game Boy (1989), which is basically the king of portable gaming. We'll be taking a look at the opening screens and stories of each device, from legendary consoles like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (1990) and Nintendo 64 (1996) to portable innovations like the Game Boy Pocket (1996) and Game Boy Light (1998).
Nintendo brought colour to portable gaming with the Game Boy Color (1998) and then made the move to modern consoles with the GameCube (2001). Then with the Game Boy Advance (2001) and Game Boy Advance SP (2003), Nintendo took the portable gaming experience further and introduced regional innovations such as the iQue Player (2003). Then, in 2004, they launched the Nintendo DS, which had two screens, and everyone who liked playing games on the go was hooked. They launched the Game Boy Micro in 2005 and the Nintendo DS Lite in 2006, and these were also really popular.
Then, in 2006, the Nintendo Wii came along and brought home entertainment with its motion sensing technology. Then, the Nintendo DSi (2008) and DSi XL (2009) took things up a notch with their cutting-edge features. Then, in 2011, the Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL came along, offering a glasses-free 3D experience that was a game-changer. And let's not forget the Nintendo Wii U in 2012 – it was a total game-changer as an innovative home console. It kept up the portable gaming vibe with models like the Nintendo 2DS (2013) and New Nintendo 3DS (2014).
And finally, with the launch of the Nintendo Switch (2017), New Nintendo 2DS XL (2017), Nintendo Switch Lite (2019) and Nintendo Switch OLED Model (2021), we entered a whole new gaming era. These consoles offer the best of both worlds, letting you play on the go or at home.
