After all these years of waiting we finally have a new installment in the Baldur's Gate series. After the loss of his his last remaining crew members a particularly wicked mindflayer steers his Nautiloid over a nameless city seeking out captives to replace his fallen team mates. His scheme is interrupted as a strike team of Githyanki dragon riders arrive from another dimension to harrass him, possibly to free one of their own who is even now languishing in one of his prison pods.
A vicious battle is fought in the skies above the city eventually culminating in the Nautiloid teleporting out. The flying battle rages on as the city fades into distant memory. It is no longer a matter of concern for the illithid. He has other, more pressing, matters to attend to. However, during the struggle our hero breaks free and crawls to a gaping hole in the side of the vessel and when they reach it, what they see blows their mind!
Now I imagine many of you will have already seen the opening cinematic although now it's nice to know what comes next. Baldur's Gate 3 has finally entered into Early Access complete with all the little quirks and squeaky wheels that we have come to expect from Early Access titles. It should come as no surprise that I'm going to dive myself in and immerse myself in a new game and a new edition. Now with 100% less Imoen! (Or so I hope). Little miss squeaky annoying voice had enough spotlight hogging in BG 1 and 2 (especially 2) so hopefully we'll be getting a new story altogether.
