Connect // \\ Disconnect
This year more than ever has stressed the importance of connections. Connections to each other as well as connections to nature. As our human connections have faced strain, so many of us have turned to nature, in many cases for the first time, to heal the disconnect and forge a new relationship with the living world around us. We were attuned to the disconnection that technology once provided us.. kids with ipads, overcrowded transport systems, scrolling at 3 am. But what would this year have been if it weren't for technology? Would our relationships have survived this parenthesis? Would our mental health? In our moments of despair we are able to message, call, FaceTime those in our lives, connecting us in our isolation. In some ways the disconnect of this year has propelled us to connect on a deeper level than ever before. With nature. With others. And after..will we have learned our lessons? When it is over will we lift our heads and look around us? Or will we step on that train to work instead of walking through the grass, fire off a text instead of a visit and lose ourselves once again in the seemingly inescapable ConnectedDisconnected existence
