5m Syagrus romanzoffiana was over wintered in our garden In Yorkshire. The first year we wrapped it in fleece and Hessian with a heated cable wrapped around the trunk.
The following year we had 3 new leaves. On the second year we wrapped it the same but the thermostat on the heated cable malfunctioned and overheated. It's burnt the tree badly and we lost all the foiloage. We thought it was dead but in June it came back to life and sprouted new growth and it's still going strong.
