The Nairobi county government has approved a 25 billion shillings budget for the next financial year. Now the budget that was approved by the county budget committee and officially gazetted indicates that the county has allocated among other things a total of 100 million shillings for the purchase of new vehicles for the county. And as Willis Raburu reports, even though the budget has set aside money for the renovation of Pumwani maternity hospital and the city mortuary, there is no allocation for the acquisition of land for a cemetery which city residents have been asking for given that current ones are almost filled up.
