Thanks for Watching! Here's some more details to plan your own trip to New York!
SEE ME:
MetroCard • Buy any unlimited weekly metro card at any Subway station kiosk. It costs $2.75 for a one way subway ticket, but the weekly unlimited pass is $31, and it works on all subways and buses. Remember to always stand aside of the doors, you will get trampled when people try to leave the train. Also, put your destination in google before you ride; they have a subway route that will not only tell you what train to take, but also lets you know which trains are not running. Way easier then staring at a map on the wall.
The PIT • thepit-nyc.com - Improv shows are free with no drink minimum on Monday and Wednesday nights 7-10pm at this New York comedy mainstay. Performers have worked on the Daily Show, The Office, Saturday Night Live, and much more, so you are pretty much guaranteed a fantastic show, all for free!
Shakespeare in the Park • publictheater.org - Free tickets are distributed at noon on each performance day via the lines at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, and there simply is no better venue to see classical theater.
Biking Governor’s Island • blazingsaddles.com - Get a free one hour cruiser rental on Governor’s Island from 10am to 12pm Monday- Friday. There’s sculptures, old barracks, parks, and maybe the best view of the skyline in NYC.
The American Folk Art Museum • folkartmuseum.org - Free admission all the time to see one of the largest collections of Americana and world folk art on the planet. No you can’t borrow the quilts for a nap. We asked.
The Natural History Museum • amnh.org - Be advised that the pay-what-you-wish admission is available only at ticket counters, and not online, so pop in and drop a dime to see the ancient world come alive.
City Hall Tour • [ Ссылка ] - City Hall tours are free and reservations should be made ahead of time online. This is a unique tour that not a lot of people know about to see one of the oldest and most iconic buildings of NYC from the inside!
Free Hudson Kayaks • [ Ссылка ] - Available First come, first serve Weekends & Holidays: May/20 to Oct/09, 9am to 5pm, Tue/Wed/Thu Evenings: Jun/20 to Sep/14, 5pm to 7:30pm - Many people think you will melt if you touch the waterways around NYC but it’s not true. It’s barely toxic. However it’s worth the risk to see the city from this absolutely unique viewpoint (and a great way to work off all those free buffets we mention later)
The Daily Show • [ Ссылка ] - Register online for free tickets, and make sure to pick them up by 4 pm on the day of the taping. Expect some waiting around, as the taping doesn’t start until 6pm, and you’ll be done by 7:15, but this is something definitely not to miss. Watch history be made nightly!
The High Line Park, Central Park, Times Square, and Playing in Garbage are always free.
