The Pietermaritzburg High Court has reserved judgement in the application of French arms company Thales, challenging racketeering and money laundering charges. Thales is being charged, together with former president Jacob Zuma, in connection with South Africa's multi-billion rand arms deal in the 1990s. The arms manufacturer was awarded a multi-billion rand contract by the South African government.
