The China and Vietnam Flavor Pack: The Middle Kingdoms, is RICE’s next flagship flavor pack, planned for release later in 2024. It will be featured at ModCon 3, the third edition of the fan-made online event that promotes and showcases mods for Paradox Games.

RICE’s largest update ever features a slew of the flavor and mechanics you’ve come to expect from RICE, but something much bigger, something that should have been in Crusader Kings 1 from Day 1 no matter if it fits the game design or if it causes performance issues, because more provinces is more important than anything else. That something? China.

Core features of the China and Vietnam Flavor Pack include:

🌏 The first Asia map expansion mod that doesn’t touch any vanilla code, meaning it’s compatible with most mods – including other map mods!
🍚 A new struggle, the Vietnamese Fronter, to relive Vietnam’s process towards independence – or stop it in its tracks
🧧 New mechanics for East Asian cultures, like the ability to declare wars for the mandate of heaven, or join the scholar-gentry class and compete with other clans for the highest honors in the imperial exams

The fake trailer was made using Rajas of Asia, an Asia map expansion mod that is 100% compatible with RICE. Everything in the video is already in ROA, except the Vietnam struggle, which was a proof of concept I did for this video (but hey, maybe one day) – if you're interested in ROA, see the download link below!
