#APEDA stands for Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority. It is a #government #organization established in 1985 with the aim of providing financial assistance, perform export promotion, information, guidelines towards the development of scheduled products under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Scheduled products
The products specified under the #APEDAAct are called schedule products and exporters of such scheduled products are required register under APEDA.
Any person who wants to obtain APEDA registration has to first apply for the registration of #ImportExportCode. Make sure to apply for APEDA registration within one month from the date of an undertaking of such export. Also, APEDA registration remains valid till lifetime until Authority decided to cancel it.
List of Scheduled Products Provided Under the First Schedule of APEDA Act, 1985:
• Meat and Meat Products
• Poultry and Poultry Products
• Dairy Products
• Confectionery, Biscuits and Bakery Products
• Honey, Jaggery, and Sugar Products
• Cocoa and its products
• All types of Chocolates
• Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages
• Cereal and Cereal Products
• Groundnuts, Peanuts and Walnuts
• Pickle, Papad and Chutney
• Guar Gum
• Floriculture and Floriculture Products
• Herbal and Medicinal Plants
Functions of APEDA Authorities
• Promoting export-oriented production
• Focussing on the development of scheduled products
• Providing standards for the scheduled products
• Registering exporters who are dealing in the scheduled products once the required fees is paid
• Working towards improving the packaging and marketing of the Scheduled Products
• To ensure the quality of scheduled products, conducting inspection and verification of the scheduled products
• Focussing on the growth and development of industries related to the scheduled products
Benefits of APEDA Registration
• Exporters can utilize the APEDA subsidies for the growth and development of export infrastructure, quality development activities, and market development activities.
• Exporters are aware of the latest export quality standards, trade fairs, infrastructure support, trade fairs and agri-exchange reports.
• Exporters will become eligible to attend different training programs conducted by the APEDA for business and skill development.
• Give guidelines to the exporters related to the various scheduled products.
Documents Required for APEDA Registration
• Signed APEDA registration application form
• A copy of Import Export Code (IEC) issued by the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)
• Bank certificate signed by the authorities
• Bank account statement of the last two months
• Cancelled Cheque
APEDA Registration Process
• Visit the official website of APEDA
• File an application form
• Submit all the requisite details along with attaching the required documents
• Once RCMC (Registration-Cum-Membership-Certificate) is issued
• The exporter can “Track Application” for rechecking and status
• Officials of APEDA approve the RCMC. On receiving the approval, certificate of registration can be obtained by using APEDA login details.
