LEADIN:
When 7-year-old Iranian child Raha Ghorbani get into her father's car, she goes straight for the driver's seat and performs drifts.
The child participates as a guest in Tehran's racing events, and dreams of becoming a racing champion herself one day.
STORYLINE:
At first, the old-fashioned Peugeot drifting in empty lots in Tehran may not look mind-blowing, but behind the wheel sits someone who can barely reach the clutch pedal: a 7-year-old girl.
Since early childhood, Raha Ghorbani would sit in her father's lap when he drove, and she loved it.
"One day I asked him 'dad, can you teach me how to drive?'"
Mohsen Ghorbani, her father, decided to take the risk and teach Raha how to not only drive, but also drift and power-slide.
"My father trusted me, and I trusted him and that day I learned how to drive," the child says.
This was not easy, and there were incidents.
A few days ago, she drove the car into a power post but fortunately exited the car unscathed.
Now Raha is more confident in her driving and dreams of becoming a professional racing champion.
Ghorbani says many people have asked him not to let his daughter drive since she is too young for that.
But Ghorbani says all he wants is to see his daughter "make progress with her talent and even become Iran's champion."
"I even want her to go where (Michael) Schumacher has gone," he adds, referring to the former German motor sport racing champion.
