The British Rally Championship Finale on a hardcore Clocaenog forest stage spanning some 15 miles, some of which riddled with massive holes in the ground! Kyle Casement once again ending his rally in a hole in front of me again, making me feel less lonely in the contest for the worst luck in Wales in 2024. Stig Blomqvist also returned in a little Mini that somehow managed the ruts quite nicely to finish 62nd overall. Not an ideal day for equipment working though and once again plan B for camera locations would have been the better one, but at least this time I was able to leave Wales fairly intact for a change! The Ingram VS Creighton VS Pryce VS Cronin battle capped off the best the BRC has been in decades quite nicely. Sadly the Keith Cronin Curse of 2024 took him out early with broken suspension later in stage 2, with the remaining 3 very obviously driving at the limits the whole way through. Osian Pryce would later slip backwards, perhaps not having the time in the car he'd have liked this year, and Creighton would later make the crucial spin that gave Ingram the title. Will Creighton is certainly a star for the future, particularly after coming this close to such a stacked BRC title in his first year behind the wheel of a Rally2 machine. And Chris Ingram & Alex Kihurani were completely faultless seemingly all rally, giving the great sounding and looking Toyota Yaris Rally2 it's first national title. Much like Ben Friends win on the Trackrod Rally this year, making it look far easier than it probably was behind the wheel. It was all very tidy.

Can the BRC maintain the momentum next year? Will its TV coverage get an intro that doesn't look THAT cheap and forgettable? Will we manage to survive the few remaining rallies next? Will someone remember to plug a battery in to ALL of his cameras next time? Time will tell!
