President Tsai Ing-wen has been handed a "fail" grade for her performance over her first year in office, according to a new poll conducted by the Taiwanese Public Opinion Foundation. Despite a satisfaction rating of 52 out of 100, the Foundation interpreted Tsai''s score as a sign that the people are willing to give her administration another chance to redeem itself. The latest poll conducted by the Taiwanese Public Opinion Foundation has 39.4 percent of respondents approving of the Tsai administration’s leadership, with 51.8 percent disapproving.
