Deputy President Paul Mashatile says the retirement industry is a pivotal sector to ensure that there's infrastructural investment in the local economy.
He was speaking virtual at the first day of a two-day Batseta conference at Sun City. Batseta represents the retirement fund industry.
Some 850 delegates are in attendance representing pension funds worth some 8 trillion rand.
