Welcome to First Look, brought to you by Digi-Key and TE Connectivity.
TE Connectivity’s GNSS antennas comprise all common global satellite services such as GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and BeiDou. Equipped with powerful, low-profile antennas, most of the systems can be tailored to your needs – from cables and connectors to rugged housing. TE’s portfolio includes GNSS antennas that can be used in combination with mobile communication antennas to provide telematic services such as eCall or vehicle tracking system. The standard portfolio of GPS antennas includes chip antennas, stacked patch antennas, active patch antennas. Chip antennas can vary in frequency with bluetooth and Wi-Fi antennas that operate at the 2.4 GHz ISM band, and GNSS antennas UHF band to ultra-wide band antennas that operate between 6 GHz and 8.1 GHz. These surface mount antennas have an peak antenna gain up to 5.0 dBi. The dominant technology for GNSS reception are ceramic patch antennas that have a very low profile. Due to the weak signal of GNSS, a low noise amplifier is typically part of our antenna design. Stacked patch antenna designs feature a higher peak gain at zenith. Both designs can be mounted with adhesive tape. GNSS active antennas feature multiple GNSS bands and the highest system gains at zenith. These antennas have embedded hybrid couplers, saw filters, and low noise amplifiers. Different cable lengths and connector options are available and no matching circuits are required for these coaxially-connected antennas. GNSS antennas are suited for use in the area of public security, in the transport and logistics sector as well as for protection against theft and in industry.
