A road trip to the Austrian Alps is a special and unique experience, at least it was like that for me. Add at least another 2 hours to any trip you plan to make in this country because you will spend so much time on the side of the road admiring the beauty of this alpine country.

One such place is Lake Traunsee, dramatic alpine peaks and crystal emerald water make this place so special, almost unreal.

Lake Traunsee, located in the Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria, is the country’s deepest lake. The surrounding mountains, like Traunstein and Gmundnerberg, offer hiking trails with breathtaking panoramas of the lake and valley. Traunstein, often called the “guardian of Traunsee,” is a challenging climb and attracts seasoned hikers and climbers.
