This is a variation on the Basic Guajira rhythm, introducing Two Slaps on One Conga

Guajira can be played on one or two congas, at a slow tempo.

For those Santana fans, please have a listen to a song called "Guajira" found on the Taboo album (Santana III).

The term Guajira - Guajiro refers to a woman or man peasant/farmer type, or in Spanish, Campesinos (Cuba).

If you find this exercise too fast, then please do the advice noted below.

All exercises should be done with the accompaniment of a ‘metronome’ as a study aid, at ‘slow tempo’, and being aware where ‘beat one’ is…very important!
