Myanmar has been laying land mines near the border with Bangladesh, according to some reports. The move is believed to be aimed at preventing the return of Rohingya Muslims, who have fled violence in their homeland. The UN says Myanmar is at the risk of ethnic cleansing if the military does not stop the persecution of minority Rohingya Muslims.
