Today’s video is all about Hausa Koko, for the Koko lovers or anyone interested in trying this porridge. I want to show you how you can make Hausa Koko dough and also save some for later use. In the video, I am also sharing with you how to make Hausa Koko from the dough. Hausa Koko is also known as spicy millet porridge, is a Ghanaian street food commonly eaten as a breakfast meal. It can also be taken in the late afternoon as a snack. It is called Hausa Koko because of the notion it was created in the Northern areas of Ghana.
INGREDIENTS:
*HAUSA KOKO DOUGH ( very spicy)
2 pounds or 8 1/2 cups of flour
1 tbsp of black pepper
1 tbsp of crushed red pepper (optional)
4 tbsp of cloves
2-3 roots of ginger
5 cups of water
*HAUSA KOKO PORRIDGE:
1 cup of Hausa Koko dough
1 liter of water or 4 cups of water
1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper (optional)
Hot water
Measurement below is for those who do not like spicy or hot food but want to enjoy Hausa Koko too:
*For the spice: ( not spicy)
4 tbsp of Cloves
1 tsp of crushed red pepper or chili flakes pepper
1 tsp Black pepper
Two thumbs of Ginger
