Top 5 Reasons Tennis Players Over 40 Get Injured
Let's face it...tennis can be a hard sport on the body, especially as we get older!
But we LOVE playing and tennis is actually a GREAT sport for our health if we can avoid injury.
So that is why I made today's video lesson.
Here are the top 5 reasons tennis players get injured and how you can avoid them:
1. Too many tennis player view the tennis court as their gym...it is NOT you need to get in shape to play tennis and not the other way around.
2. Playing too much tennis. You love tennis I get it. But sometimes you have to know when to give it a rest, especially if you are coming back from an injury.
3. Poor technique: Did you know that not only is poor technique on your serve forehand backhand ect...is not only bad for your game but for your health as well.
4. Poor warm up and cool down habits: I have to admit I am guilty as charged on this one. Sometimes we get so excited to play we forget to warm up properly and this is just flirting with disaster.
5. ShX%ty Outdated Equipment- if you are using outdated rackets, or strings it can really mess up your wrist, elbow, and shoulders...be careful. I think poor equipment might be the #1 cause of tennis elbow
