Track 9 from the 15th album by Manuel & The Music of the Mountains, "Carnival", released in 1971. The full title of the track is Rodrigo's Guitar Concerto de Aranjuez (Theme From The Second Movement). The album reached No. 3 in the UK album chart in March 1976.
This track was released in the UK as a single at the end of 1975, backed with "Mirage" (also uploaded). It entered the UK singles chart on 31 January 1976 and, when the chart for 28 February was announced, this was declared as the new UK No. 1 selling single.
However, as soon as the track had been played on BBC radio as the No. 1, it was announced that there had been an error in the chart calculation. Three hours later, the revised chart was published, and Manuel was now at No. 3 - the highest "official"position it reached. However, this track was the UK's No. 1 single for three hours, the shortest ever time spent there by a song. A record breaker for Manuel!
