WHAT does MSC Butler Service Really Include?! Here are all the persk I found on Bellissima:
1) A separate and elite check process where you get escorted through the cruise terminal and its security, via a ‘lubrication’ lounge and then straight onto the ship!
2) A Butler escorts you directly up to your ready & waiting cabin. It might not be your personal butler - if not - he/she is about to find you.
3) You will be shown around the Yacht Club and the perks will be explained + they will find out about your individual needs. Your Butler will show you around the whole ship and the facilities if asked.
4) They will make sure the kitchen is informed if you are allergic to anything so you don't have to and can relax.
5) Don’t be shy - they can swap up the mini-bar content, change the pillows or sort anything else that might not be to your satisfaction.
6) Your personal Butler and 1 Steward are in charge of your cabin each day, at least twice a day. I popped back unexpectedly to find them both working hard together in my cabin. If your Butler is off duty - it will be this Steward that acts on his/her behalf.
7) These two members of staff will be the only staff to bring room service to you during your stay normally, so they do get to understand you very quickly and it feels like a very personalised service!
8) If you order a full meal in your suite, your Butler will serve it in proper courses, just like in the dining room!
9) Your Butler will bring little treats into your cabin throughout your stay - each time different and oh so yummy! You certainly can request what you want if you don’t like surprises.
10) My favourite part was being personally and privately escorted on and off the ship by the lovely Lola. I can only imagine the amount of time it saved me from waiting in long lines. Hours guys - seriously - lots of hours! And I had zero shame about it - I loved it - just concentrated on enjoying it rather than what others thought!
11) The escorting service is not exclusive to embarking and disembarking, it is all around the ship. I truly loved being led to the Theatre by Lola after supper each evening, being guided to a lush seat in the private area with my champagne in hand. You can ask to be escorted anywhere at any time… The spa, shopping area or gym for example.
12) The other joy with being escorted, especially as a solo traveller, was simply having some company/chat walking around and getting knowledge off the lovely human showing me around - don’t be afraid to ask questions - Butlers know so much after many years at sea and are happy to share their knowledge with inquisitive minds. They are full of tips! They are at the top of their game!
13) When I say ESCORTED - I mean ‘Meet & Greet’ + BLATANT QUEUE BARGING: but with the dignity, grace and class of your butler elegantly parting the sea of people ahead
and you happily gliding behind, trying to hide your awe of the situation!

14) Packing and Unpacking is always offered but I have yet to know anyone to use it! I’d hate trying to find my belongings in cupboards and drawers I don't know - but maybe one day I will try it as I do hate the chore.
15) Grooming needs: your laundry, your shoe shining - these might be included - you need to check.
16) Your Butler is your own walking talking Concierge, almost like your own Personal Assistant rather than something out of Downton Abbey. Anything you might put past Concierge, you can ask your Butler instead - he/she is your shortcut to an easy stay!
17) Private Jewellery shopping in your cabin, arranging private bespoke excursions, excursions, customised shopping trips - all are available via your Butler as well as Concierge.
18) Your Butler will even help you arrange a private party in your suite! They will rearrange the furniture, organise the canapes, decorations and drinks for 15-20 people depending on cabin size (all at an extra cost obvs - but possible with zero stress).
19) Problem Solving of all sorts: this is a game changer because rather than you wasting time worrying when something does go awry - your Butler is there to deal with it for you.


WON'T DO:
1) Babysitting or child care
2) Care Work re: illness or disability
3) Companionship - they won’t and can’t keep you company apart from in transit on foot as they escort you from place to place.
4) Miracles - have some understanding of what is possible, we are still in the real world
5) Emotional or physical/sexual comfort - for hopefully obvious reasons.
