Again, much has happened since I last posted a video.
Firstly, I’ve had quite a few issues with my camera (mainly operator), hence the reason for me not posting for so long and the reason why I only captured the last 30 minutes of my nearly three hour flight today.
So, since my last post, I have managed to sit and pass my RPL-A flight test and am now officially a recreational pilot. I am now allowed to pilot a small aircraft, such as a Piper Cherokee or a Cessna 172, with passengers within a 25nm radius of the aerodrome that I departed from.
Since passing my flight test I hadn’t flown until today. Instead, I had been doing ground school to learn cross country navigation. Today was my first cross country flight, I flew out of Bankstown aerodrome, over Camden aerodrome then over Mittagong and on to Goulburn aerodrome where I attempted a touch and go landing, but due to the massive cross wind, ended up going around at about two hundred feet. From Goulburn, we then flew on to Crookwell, a grass landing strip North West of Goulburn. From Crookwell we then flew back over Camden then back to Bankstown via two RN.
Coming back into Bankstown, I had my most challenging landing to date, a fifteen knot crosswind, which I managed to pull off with great success to my great delight.
As always everyone, stay safe, happy and Healthy and always keep the blue side up.
