Prize Pool is a new savings app that gives away $50,000 every month! I've been using it for a little while and already won prize money! These are my initial impressions of the app.

New companies are completely changing the experience we have with the normally boring savings account! FINALLY! They are making it more of a game by giving away cash prizes in exchange for us leaving our money with them. Prize Pool is the newest of the gamified savings accounts and it's a bit different than the now-famous Yotta Savings. I personally plan to continue using both apps and will communicate updates over time if they are significant.

As of now, we are earning a LOT more interest/prizes/money by using these new savings apps than we have been using the old school banks or even online banks. We are earning 0.60% with Ally Bank's high yield savings account but are on track to earn over 200% with Yotta and Prize Pool. Of course we don't have a lot of money deposited with them yet, so that number combined with the relatively low number of users (and the relatively high odds of winning so far) kind of artificially inflate those winnings. But even if that return gets totally slashed and we "only" make 2% interest using these services, it would still be worth it in my opinion. They are FDIC insured, a fun way to remember to save money, and a little excitement every week that actually earns you real money. What's NOT to like??

UPDATE:
These 3 exciting updates are coming to the Prize Pool app:
- Recurring deposits are now here! You can set up a scheduled deposit to Prize Pool weekly, biweekly, or monthly! (I just chose weekly last night!)
-Prize Pool will increase the maximum ticket limit allowed per person to 3 million. (Not sure who was maxing out the tickets before!....)
-Weekly Drawings are coming soon (now this is the one I'm most excited for! Waiting a whole month is too long to keep people engaged well. This should help to make things exciting!
