Over the course of its 11 seasons, Chicago P.D. has seen a revolving door of characters, a hallmark of long-running series. One of the most significant exits was that of Hailey Upton during the gripping season 11 finale. Tracy Spiridakos stepped into the role of Upton in Chicago P.D season 4, originally introduced as a fresh face to replace Sophia Bush's Erin Lindsay, who departed from the show. Spiridakos quickly established herself as a core member of the Intelligence Unit, captivating audiences with her performance over the subsequent seasons.
Despite the loss of her on-screen husband, Jesse Lee Soffer, who left in season 10, Spiridakos remained a steadfast presence through to season 11. Yet, in late 2023, NBC announced that this would be her final season, leaving fans heartbroken and questioning what prompted her departure.
