In Karnataka state, about 16 IAS officers have been transferred. The reason behind these transfers is not completely clear. Although such a hectic movement can be expected since elections are around the corner and a new government comes into power or the other loses its authority. To tackle the power crisis in the summer, senior IAS officer Kumar Naik has been made Additional Chief Secretary to the Energy Department. Gaurav Gupta has been given the newly created BBMP Chief Commissioner’s post. Rakesh Singh has been transferred as BBMP Administrator.
