We taste my second attempt at a homebrewed, low ABV of 4.5%, Session NEIPA.
I had brewed a beer a few weeks back that was a starter attempt at making an NEIPA where I restrained the ABV to less than 5%. The point of this beer was to provide a sessionable, juicy IPA for my brother-in-law to take on a guys weekend trip.
This beer is the rebrew where I tweaked the hop character a little bit to try and drive a little more and a little softer hop.fruit character into the beer.
The hops I used were Galaxy, El Dorado, and Huell Melon. I substituted into this beer the last two in an attempt to get more fruit.
I think these beer certainly had less pine character than version 1; likely from the dropping of Simcoe in the first beer. This beer had a touch of a lime presence and a juicy fruit gum like finish.
This beer was pretty good on the palate still not as fruity as I'd like, but that's a goal for brew #3 I guess.
Cheers!
