The number of confirmed cases rose to 650, …up 194 from the previous day …and the highest number of infections in Europe so far.
The Italian government is calling for calm, …stressing that most of the country remains unaffected.
In Greece, two new cases were reported on Thursday, …bringing the total to three.
Croatia also has three confirmed cases.
China has reported the lowest number of single-day deaths caused by the virus in three weeks.
On Thursday, the country reported 29 new deaths, …dropping below the 50 mark and the lowest since January 28th.
The number of new cases the same day, four-hundred-33, …also remained below the five-hundred mark for the second straight day.
A top Chinese health expert said Thursday that he's confident the outbreak will be under control by the end of April.
