GARY LUCAS with GODS & MONSTERS LIVE AT THE KNITTING FACTORY New York 12/04/02
This live set from Gary Lucas & Gods and Monsters was taped at the
Knitting Factory NYC in June 2002 for the TV program "Live at the
Knitting Factory", and was broadcast on US national television on the
BET channel later that year. The program, showcases Gary's incendiary
live band, which he founded in 1989 and leads to this day ( a live
DVD/CD is forthcoming on Mighty Quinn). "The group is mindblowing!"--
Time Out New York. The lineup for this concert features Gary on
guitars and vocals, Ernie Brooks (Modern Lovers) on bass, Jonathan
Kane (Swans) on drums, Jason Candler on alto sax, and Joe Hendel on
trombone. In part two, Gary is interviewed and then the band performs Gary's
friend the late Arthur Russell's avant-dance classic "Let's Go
Swimming", here rocked out and funked up by Gods and Monsters
