After visiting Longshan Temple, I decided to take a detour from the common tourist path and hit up one of the smaller temples in Taipei. It was a fantastic decision as this temple was a little gem that was hidden away beneath the tower blocks that line the streets of modern Taipei

The temple was built in 1854 as home to the Chinese folk god, King Qingshan, who was, according to stories, brought to Taiwan by fisherman from Hui-an county, Fujian. Every year, on the 22nd of the 10th Lunar month, the temple celebrates the birthday of King Qingshan.
