I think the Ruwi support rails are ingeneous, if a little pricey for what they are. This video shows 3 lower cost alternatives to fix to an MFT top. Links below to all that is needed for the 3 fixing methods shown in the video.
BASIC SET
As mentioned toward the end of the video, whichever fixing option you think might best suit, you'll need what I call the "basic set" for each. The basic set consists of 2 x 1m 4040 aluminium profile extrusion, a roll of self adhesive acoustic floor and stud tape and, 4 x 40 series profile t-nuts.
