Roy DeShane 3rd graders recently studied the life and career of American modernist painter Georgia O’Keeffe during art class. As part of the unit, they tried their hand at creating their own versions of enlarged flowers, her signature works, learning firsthand the element of art value by applying tints and shades to their paintings.
